Molly Cosmetics MC Pigments (swatches/review)

Hello everyone!

Since I really enjoyed the liquid lipsticks from Molly Cosmetics (click here if you haven't read about it yet), I decided to buy some of their pigments and accessories as well.

**DISCLAIMER** NOT SPONSORED. I bought these products with my own money. I'm not paid to review their products... it's just my honest opinion.**

Molly Cosmetics Pigments (MC Pigments) come in 12 stunning shades: 6 colorful and 6 neutral shades. These pigments are vegan and safe to use on the face, lips and nails as well. Of course I've got the neutrals just because I'm used to work with such shades.

Photo from their website

Same as last time it took more or less 20-22 days to arrive here. The pigments came inside a nice white box with MC logo.

I was pretty nervous about the pigments if they spilled or leaked out but Molly Cosmetics team did an awesome job in packing and sealing them. The pigments arrived intact. 💖

There wasn't any "thank you" note inside so probably they only send it on the first purchase.

Each jar was completely sealed and protected ;) the Italian customs didn't open them.

I got the smallest jar which contains 1.2g of the product but they no longer sell this size

PRICE:
- €6,09 each
- €26,45 for either 6 colorful (Fiona+Annie+Noelle+Molly+Dorothy+Al) or 6 neutrals (Crystal+Meme+Ayu+Scarlett+Fifi+Wiwien)
- €52,83 for all 12 colors

Purchase them here ➡ www.mollycosmeticsshop.com
**Feel free to use my code "ITSMEKANON" to get a 10% off on all products, even on those already on sale**

SHIPPING FEE:
  • FREE (without tracking code)
  • $5 (with tracking code provided)

NET WEIGHT: 2.5g

LIFE SPAN: 2 years

PACKAGING:
They come in a small clear jar with a black cap and a "Molly Cosmetics" sticker tag on it. There aren't any details regarding the ingredients of the pigments. At the bottom of the jar, you'll see the shade name and how much product it contains.

When you open the cap, you can see a silver/alluminum foil which further protects the product from spilling out.

As I said earlier, I picked the 6 neutral shades: CRYSTAL, MEME, AYU, SCARLETT, FIFI and WIWIEN

CRYSTAL: Brilliant bright white silver irregular glitter
perfect to use as a inner tearduct highlight

MEME: Brilliant champagne gold irregular glitter

AYU: Brilliant reddish copper irregular glitter

SCARLETT: Brick red (metalic) with gold, maroon, silver flecks
mixed with clear gloss, it creates a beautiful red gloss for the lips

FIFI: Medium gray (metalic) with lavander and pink flecks and a hint of gold and silver shimmer
My current favorite. From the pot it looks like just a gray pigment but once you swatch it, it turns into this gorgeous, sultry, magical color.

WIWIEN: Dark brown (metalic) with lavander, maroon green flecks and a hint of  champagne shimmer
I used this once as eyeliner (mixed with Inglot Duraline) and I really loved it.

I applied Fifi as an overall lid color and to smoke the lower lashline and Wiwien mixed with Inglot Duraline as eyeliner.

I created a double cut crease using Fifi for the mobile lids and Crystal as inner tearduct highlight.

PRO's (Scarlett, Fifi, Wiwien):
  • unique shades (specially for Fifi)
  • great pigmentation even with the tiniest amount
  • blends easily
  • easy to work with (dry or wet)

PRO's (Crystal, Meme, Ayu):
  • great overall glitters for the lids
  • stunning colors
  • best to work with a spritz of any setting spray (I use MAC Fix+)

CON's:
  • can be a little messy when getting the product because the jars don't have sifters (the upgraded packaging doesn't have this issue)
  • fall outs (I suggest you do your eye makeup before the complexion)

FINAL VERDICT:
I'm in love with these pigments specially with Fifi and Wiwien. I haven't really played with the rest of the shades but the first impression is positive. I'll definitely buy the colorful ones.

Molly Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks (swatches/review)

Hello Everyone! Today I want to talk about a new company that I found on Instagram.

**DISCLAIMER** NOT SPONSORED. I bought these products with my own money (except for Call Me which is a gift). I'm not paid to review their products... it's just my honest opinion.**

Molly Cosmetics (@mollycosmetics on IG) is an indie cosmetic brand from Hong Kong, co-founded by a makeup artist and a stylist. They launched their website last April 1, 2016 and their first ever products were liquid lipsticks.

Liquid lipsticks are very popular nowadays and every cosmetic brands are coming up with their own, but it's difficult to find one with a great formula and staying power.

Anyways, as I've said earlier, I found out about them through Instagram. They were following my account. I followed them back because:
  • First, I was curious about the brand/company
  • I love discovering new brands and trying out something new
  • I'm a lipstick junkie and I love liquid lipsticks
Molly Cosmetics matte liquid lipsticks come in 12 stunning shades and they are cruelty-free, gluten-free and paraben-free.

I decided then to purchase some just to test if they were good. That time they offered 15% off + free worldwide shipping. I decided to get 2 from the nudes range.

The package took 20 days to arrive to my doorstep (from Hong Kong to Italy). In that span of time, I kept in touch with the owners who reassured me about the package. The girls behind this company are really kind and they love to connect with their clients.

So finally my package arrived and I was shaking while the postman gave it to me.

me with my package 😁
The liquid lipsticks are inside this gold bubble mailer with the company logo on it. Inside the bubble mailer is a mesh bag containing the liquid lipstick, a coupon code for my next purchase and a thank you card. And I was surprised that I found another liquid lipstick inside (aside the 2 that I've purchased). I immediately contacted Molly Cosmetics and they told me: "It's an appreciation for placing a pre-order! For having faith in us."

They even took time to write a personal note. They are the sweetest brand ever!

from top to bottom: Call Me (for free), Nu and Gaga

PRICE: on sale for 14.53€ (there's a feature on the website where you can change currency display) You can purchase them here ➡ Molly Cosmetics
**Feel free to use my code "ITSMEKANON" to get a 10% off on all products, even those already on sale.**

SHIPPING FEE:

  • FREE (without tracking code)
  • $5 (with tracking code)

NET WEIGHT: 0.16 oz (4.5g)

LIFE SPAN: 6 months

PACKAGING:
The liquid lipsticks are sealed in a plastic wrap to prevent the product from leaking out. The description of the product itself, the ingredients, as well as the manufacter's details are written on each boxes.

INGREDIENTS: CYCLOMETHICONE, POLYETHYLENE, ATTAPULGITE, BEESWAX, PHENOXYETHANOL, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, OZOKERITE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE. MAY CONTAIN: CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 15850, CI 42090, CI 15985, CI 45410.

The actual packaging/tube of the liquid lipstick is very simple yet sleek-looking. It is made of transparent plastic so you can see the shade of the liquid lipstick and the brand name printed on it. I love the matte cap though!

The applicator is quite long compared to an average liquid lipstick applicator. It's flat on both sides. The bristles are denser and longer and it feels nice on the lips.

I didin't have any problem or trouble while applying the product on my lips; as a matter of fact, It's so easy to apply even on the corners and on the cupid's bow area. I didn't have to re-dip the wand for a second application (except for Call Me). The product on the applicator is enough to cover the entire lips.

At the bottom of each tube, you'll see the shade number/name as well as the amount of product inside.

  • Call Me is a bright (almost neon) pinkish coral, perfect shade for summer.
  • Gaga is a medium brownish mauve, it's their "magical" shade because it suits EVERYONE.. and it's their best-seller as well.
  • Nu is a soft medium warm brown. I fell in love with this shade after seeing it for the first time on their IG. It screams "90s"
Nu and Gaga are quite similar shades (Gaga has more mauve in it).

Here are the swatches.

INDOOR
on the left: natural lighting
on the right: with flash

OUTDOOR
on the left: natural lighting
on the right: with flash

PROs:
  • Thin consistency
  • Glides on very smoothly (great formula)
  • Easy to apply (no need for a lip liner)
  • Great pigmentation (one swipe and you're good to go)
  • No tacky feeling during and after the application
  • Very light-weight on the lips
  • Flexible
  • Not drying
  • Impressive staying power (even after eating an oily meal, it still looks good)

CONs:
  • slight scent of paint (but goes away once applied on the lips)
  • patchy application for the shade Call Me (I had to put on 2 layers for a better coverage)

FINAL VERDICT:
I LOVE THESE LIQUID LIPSTICKS and will definitely purchase the other shades. So far, they are the best in my whole lipstick collection ❤

Ho presentato la 25a edizione della Festa dei Popoli (2016)

Ciao a tutti 😁

I'm back!

Hello everyone!
I'm so sorry I haven't blogged anything for such a long time. I'm sorry for being MIA. I decided to focus on my studies and work for a while.

I did a lot of things last year and this year as well. Last year I organized 2 debuts and hosted 3. I started working as a babysitter for an italian family while doing/accepting freelance work as a MUA.. and I started a "baking business" (I've been collaborating with this filipina neighbor and we bake cakes for events).

I started this year with so much work: 3 birthday parties to organize, 4 parties to host, lots of cake/sweets orders... But I love being busy.

I have a lot of things to share with you all! hahaha! Are you excited?!

BTW, I'm thinking of making another blog just for my recipes and this blog will be for beauty-related posts... what do you think?

Hope all of you are doing great! See you on my next blogpost ❤
