Valentine's Day 2014

I had the weirdest, funniest, sweetest Valentine's Day ever!

Me and my boyfriend Luigi were both busy that morning (I was on a morning shift in the hospital and he had work until 3pm). I texted him that I would like to go home for lunch and to take some rest so I suggested him to do the same. I have to get the whoopies that I baked for him. At the end we went out at almost 5pm.

I took the bus 028 from home then I stopped at Casal del Marmo and waited for the bus 146. He took the same bus and I asked him where were we going. He replied "SECRET! it will be a surprise". We went to Battistini and took the tube to Termini. He told me that we had to go to Via Piave before 7pm. I hadn't got any idea on where were we going nor what would we do once we arrive there. Since Via Piave is near to Via Palestro, I suggested him to take the Line B from Termini to Castro Pretorio. It was 6.40pm so we hurried up and I kept asking him about the "surprise". He told me "sana magustuhan mo at sana everytime na makita mo yun ay maaalala mo ako". (ngek! para ka naman namamaalam... LOL)

Anyways, we reached the street so I asked him the street number. He replied "8" then he screamed "ayun bilisan natin Bebeeh!". When I saw the shop, I was like "OMG!!!!! OMG!!!!! don't tell me you're going to get me that thing!!!!!!!!" and I was sweating due to the excitement and surprise. He took me to a photography shop and he planned on buying me a "polaroid camera" as his early bday gift for me. <3

Grabe talaga! Even if it was pretty cold outside, I started to sweat and my face was red. My heartbeat increased and he told me "your face is PRICELESS."

We were thinking if we should get the Instax mini 7 or the Instax 210. I ended on picking up the Instax mini 7 (though I would prefer an Istax mini 8 but it wasn't available). We went to the pay the cam but his Bancomat didn't work. The salesman told him that he kept entering the wrong password but Luigi was sure that the password was correct because he changed it. The salesman suggested us to withdraw from a bank nearby the shop. It was already 7.10pm but they told us that they will wait. So we ran out and search for the nearest bank. He tried to withdraw but the machine said that the password was wrong so we went back to the shop and told them that we will return the day after. POOR DADEEH! He was very disapponted to himself. The surprise was ALMOST PERFECT. I was very sad for him not because we weren't able to get the cam, but because he put so much effort for that surprise but everything went wrong. Therefore we decided to go to Barberini for dinner. (We went to Burger King)

At BK we met some friends (Mizen and JayR). They were having their date as well.

We ordered Angry Whooper for him and Chicken tendergrill for me. After the meal, he ate my Valentine Whoopies and he liked it :)

Then we went to Trevi Fountain and threw a coin for a wish :)

I was about to throw the coin :)

He bought me a Raspberry Baccardi Breezer and a Corona beer for him the we walked by Via del Corso, took a bus to Barberini and took a tube to Cornelia.

This year's Valentine's was without chocolates, flowers and balloons. The important is despite our busy lives we still have time for each other and, above all, he showed me how important I am and how much he loves me <3

Thank you Dadeeh for everything!!! Words are small compare to what I really feel. I love you so much! <3

Whoopies with Marshmallow Fluff

I decided to make some whoopies as my valentine treat for my boyfriend Luigi <3
He's been craving for something sweet so he asked me to bake some for him.

Ingredients

for the batter:
- 125g butter
- 1 egg
- 150g granulated sugar
- 250g flour
- 50g cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 100ml milk
- 50g yogurt

for the filling:
- 125g butter
- 80g confectioner's sugar
- vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
- 150g marshmallow fluff

for the garnishment:
- heart shape sugar decoration

Procedure

1.) Preheat oven to 175 ° C and line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.

2.) Put in a bowl the butter, previously softened, egg and sugar. beat with electric mixer until the mixture will be foamy.

3.) In a second bowl mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

4.) Mix milk with yogurt.

5.) With the help of an electric mixer stir in the flour and cocoa mixture, alternating, the mixture of milk and yogurt, to the butter and egg mixture until the batter is nice and smooth.

6.) Form small portions of dough on baking tray by using 2 spoons, taking care to maintain a certain distance from each other, because during cooking the batter will grow.

7.) Bake for about 12 minutes. Then remove and let cool.

8.) For the filling, with the help of an elettric mixer beat all the  ingredients in a bowl. Put the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes, then transfer the cream into a piping bag and distribute it on half of the cookies, from the bottom side. Cover with the other half.

9.) With a tiny amount of cream, place some heart shape sugar decoration on the top of the whoopies.
